Nestled in a beautiful English-inspired garden that was designed and lovingly tended to by Avril Brewer for many years, Wisteria Cottage is the original farmhouse on Katrinasrust. With a number of small, private spaces scattered around the garden, Wisteria Cottage is the ideal getaway for families with adventurous children who can play safely within the boundaries of the garden as well as for those looking for a quiet spot to sit and read a book in the afternoon sun.

THE COTTAGE
With four bathrooms and five bedrooms of a very luxurious standard, as well as a beautiful living and dining room space that leads out onto the garden, this cottage is the ideal escape from it all.

LIVING
The cottage boasts a spacious mud room for all kinds of fishing and outdoor gear, all modern appliances in the cozy farm-style kitchen, an outdoor braai and pizza area and a sunny Mediterranean courtyard. The vegetable garden has also been revived and is now producing fresh, seasonal vegetables and herbs for residents and guests to enjoy. With rambling roses and an abundance of wisteria, the garden is particularly beautiful in Spring and early Summer for those that have an appreciation for horticulture.
THE AREA
Wisteria Cottage is located on Katrinasrust Country Estate, a trout farm located near Mpumalanga, a haven for people wanting to escape to the country for some peace and quiet. The estate offers accommodation in peaceful and tranquil surroundings.

Guests should bring all necessary provisions with them, there are no nearby shops or restaurants. Milly's Restaurant is 30 minutes away and has a lovely Deli

Hiking: Feel free to explore the farm on foot, from the river to the mountains, there's so much to see and explore.
Fishing: Fish one of the dams or head down the river for a bit more of a challenge. All fishing is reserved exclusively for guests staying on the farm.
Mountain Biking: Explore the forests and hillside on your own or with company.
Picnics: Spend a lazy afternoon next to the water with a selection of seasonal treats. Booking is essential.
Birding: From Fish Eagles to Kingfishers and Weavers to Cuckoos, come and discover the bird life on Katrinasrust.
Retreats: If you would like to host a retreat on the Estate, or would like information on upcoming retreats and workshops, please get in touch.

Cancellation within 4 weeks forfeit 50% deposit, within 7 days 100%.
Exceptions may be made for extenuating circumstances, but please communicate with us as soon as possible so that we can do our best to accommodate changes.
