Minimum Stay: 1 Nights
If you’re more of a “four brick walls" kind of person, looking for a bolthole to write your next book or simply keen to experience a weekend getaway or longer stay in a cute cottage surrounded by pristine bush, then the Bushveld Bivouac Cottage Retreat is for you.
Queen-size bed with en-suite shower
The lovely open-plan cottage features a fully equipped kitchen with a 2-plate stove, bar fridge and a dining area (doubling up as a work or socialising space). The cottage has high-speed WIFI. The Retreat is exquisitely decorated in a multitude of greens, soft encompassing pure cotton linens and interesting art pieces.
A delightful exterior will beckon you to sit and relax on the veranda at the table. Enjoy the charm of the plunge pool in summer with its “afdak”, comfortable lounger and open-to-the-call-of-the-wild outside shower, warm your feet by the fire at the braai/fire pit area in winter, and revel in the sound of giraffe, wildebeest, zebra or nyala as they rustle in the surrounding bush in the dark of night to the occasional call of lions from nearby Balule.
Even though the cottage is self-catering, at an additional cost, food shopping can be done on your behalf and delicious pre-prepared meals can be ordered, as well as a mouth-watering picnic basket for a day excursion.
Located halfway between Hoedspruit and Phalaborwa, the farm lies just 40 minutes from the world famous Kruger Park’s Phalaborwa gate to the north, a bit over an hour’s drive from Orpen Gate to the south; and close to numerous other extraordinary destinations. While you’re on our farm, however, it’s all about walking, mountain biking, or simply soaking up the incredible views from each site’s decks, surrounded by pristine bush and incredible birdlife — with the odd curious antelope venturing past.
