THE COTTAGE
Pepper Tree Cottage has been refurbished honouring its historical significance, built from mud bricks, poplar beams and thatch, and still has its old 'bakoond' in the kitchen. Accommodating up to four people in two en-suite bedrooms, it is a charming family escape with the privately located hot tub offering some of the best star gazing opportunities in the region!
SLEEPING
1 x King Bedroom en-suite
1 x Twin Bedroom en-suite (can be converted into a double)
LIVING
Set away from the other cottages, Pepper Tree offers a private setting boasting its own splash pool as well as a wood fire hot tub in an enclosed garden with magnificent views of the Naudesberg in the distance. It has a fully equipped kitchen with a gas stove and electric oven, dining room and sitting room. It is air-conditioned, has a wood-burning stove, TV and wifi.
THE AREA
There is plenty to keep all generations active and happy at Penhill Farm – dams and pools for fishing, canoeing or simply splashing about in, the best tennis court in the Karoo, boules, croquet, trails for gentle walks, more strenuous hikes and several fantastic mountain bike trails leading directly from the farm.
While there are many delightfully picturesque spots on the farm where everyone can gather for meals, afternoon tea or sundowners, there’s also more than enough space on the 3 500 acre property with its well-tended gardens to find quiet time alone with a book.
Alternatively venture out and explore the winelands region of Robertson Valley, where picturesque landscapes, world-class wines and warm hospitality await. Affectionately known as the valley of wine, horses and roses, Robertson is a winelands love story. Situated in the shadow of the majestic Langeberg mountains with the Breede River as its life blood, Robertson is the western gateway to the Route 62. Only a leisurely 1 ½ hour drive from Cape Town.
