THE HOUSE

This newly renovated cottage boasts thick clay walls and classic sash windows that complement the rustic ambiance of the farm-style decor. The once historic Bakhuis and Ou Skooltjie cottages have been converted into a family friendly sanctuary. A braai and on the ‘stoep’ and a dip in the pool, overlooking the Shiraz vineyards, is a must during your stay.

LIVING

House Shiraz has a comfortable living area with a large indoor fireplace. The kitchenette is fitted with all the essentials. Double doors lead out to the cottage patio by the Shiraz Vineyards. The comfortable Indonesian teak outdoor furniture is the perfect spot to take in the view. 

THE AREA 

De Kombuys is a two hundred year old working Cape Dutch Farm in the Swartberg Mountains. De Kombuys boasts terroir-based estate wines, free-range Wagyu and boutique upmarket accommodation complimented by the restaurant, The Marbled Wagyu, specialising in Wagyu beef.

GOOD TO KNOW

On arrival you will be welcomed by fresh flowers, fruits & a bottle of our own estate. Quality white bedding and fluffy towels are provided. Daily housekeeping, private dining, turndown & concierge service can be provided (unless privacy is requested). There is a play area for kids and feeding farm animals can be arranged. 

At De Kombuys organic farming practices are followed. The Wagyu cattle are hormone- & antibiotic-free and are exclusively pasture reared. De Kombuys is also home to free-range chickens, free roaming sheep and an organic, heirloom vegetable garden. The Vineyards are maintained by biological principles, and the wines are available from the cellar and restaurant. It is possible for the farm to host a private braai (barbeque) on your patio. Braai packs, wagyu boerewors, steaks, wine, firewood, fresh eggs, seasonal vegetables etc. are available to our guests at wholesale farm prices (SQ). Guests also receive an additional 10% discount on all produce & deli purchases.

25% deposit payment is required to confirm a booking. 

Cancellation Policy

If cancelled or modified up to 90 days before date of arrival, 10 percent of the total price of the reservation will be charged.

If cancelled or modified up to 30 days before date of arrival, 40 percent of the total price of the reservation will be charged.

If cancelled or modified up to 14 days before date of arrival, 70 percent of the total price of the reservation will be charged.

If cancelled or modified up to 7 days before date of arrival, 100 percent of the total price of the reservation will be charged.

If cancelled or modified later or in case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged.
