Mukti Nieu-Bethesda
"Mukti" is Sanskrit for spiritual liberation. A soulful, peaceful space where you can go to to clear your mind and heart in the little piece of paradise that is Nieu-Bethesda. The property was renovated extensively, whilst paying respect to the heritage and character of the home. The interiors have been beautifully curated and designed, with top quality bedding and utilities.

LIVING
The lounge area has a fireplace for cosy winter nights, and there’s a library for hibernating with countless books for company. Dining is at a raw wooden table in the kitchen, Karoo style. Alternatively, in warm weather, meals on the verandah are relaxing. For those who are obligated to do some work, there is a dedicated desk.
The outside area boasts four comfy loungers next to the solar heated splash pool. The covered terrace has a large wooden dining room table and a comfortable outdoor lounge suite. Stargazing at night is an absolute must.
THE AREA
Nieu-Bethesda (Afrikaans for New Bethesda) is a village in the Eastern Cape at the foot of the Sneeuberge, approximately 50 kilometres (31 mi) from Graaff Reinet. It was founded as a church town, like many other Karoo villages, and attained municipal status in 1886. Nieu-Bethesda was the last of the municipalities to receive electricity, as recently as 1991.
The name is of biblical origin (John 5:2-4) and means "place of flowing water", due to the constant flow of the mountain spring. This water is shared throughout the town via sluicegates that control the "lei water".
The village is known for its unique energy. There are no fuel stations, ATM's or tarred roads, which adds to its beautiful (and for many, spiritually uplifting) charm.
