Mthini Lodge sleeps 8 adults & 2 children, divided into three King Bedrooms & one suite with two ¾ beds. All rooms have luxury en-suite bathrooms. Full kitchen and a large open-plan living and dining area with a TV & fireplace, which opens onto a patio.

THE LODGE

Mthini is the shining star of Penwarn Farm Lodge, and is perched on a hill overlooking a magnificent lake and Southern Peaks of the Drakensberg.

Fresh linen and towels are provided.

LIVING

Each room has it's own bathroom, fireplace, wall heaters and all beds have electric blankets. The 4 bedrooms all open onto a large wrap around patio and each room has their own private access.

The living area has a large open plan kitchen, lounging and dinning area with selected DSTV channels, a L-shaped couch and a fireplace.

Relax on the patio on a day bed and enjoy the mountain and lake views. Just off the patio is the fire pit and outdoor braai area with a dining table and chairs.

THE AREA

Penwarn Farm is located in the foothills of the Southern Drakensberg. This stunning farm lodge escape is rustic yet modern, Penwarn Farm Lodge can be found just 25km from the quaint, little town of Underberg in South Africa. As you drive down the Khyber Pass, you’ll be greeted with the all the beauty that Penwarn has to offer.

Sharing the grasslands are zebra, hartebeest and blesbok. Birdlife is of abundance and the cranes and wild geese can be spotted from the comfort of your room. Penwarn truly is an animal enthusiast’s paradise! Jump on a kayak or hike to the waterfall, picnic or swim in the crisp waters of the natural rook pool.

GOOD TO KNOW

Children aged between 0 and 4 stay free. Children aged between 5 and 12 pay R480.00.

Wood, ice and water is available for purchase at reception.

There is NO restaurant or shop on the property, so don't forget your groceries. 

High clearance cars are advisable but if you driving a low car please drive very slowly and arrive in the daylight. Arriving in the dark is not advisable.The road from Howick to Underberg has potholes please drive safely.

50% of payment taken on booking.

If cancelling 7 days before arrival, forfeit 100% of the booking total.

If cancelling 14 days before arrival, forfeit 100% of the deposit.

If cancelling 21 days before arrival, forfeit 50% of the deposit.

If cancelling 30 days before arrival, forfeit 25% of the deposit.
