Indigo Blue Beach House
Indigo Blue is a classic West Coast beach house that provides the ideal base for a laid back holiday. Situated on one of Langebaan’s best and most private beaches, Sandbaai, the house has its toes in the sand and you can literally walk from the front door out onto the beach. The shallow and protected lagoon waters are great for kids with the nearby rock pools providing hours of entertainment. Simply furnished with an African- West Coast feel, it is fully equipped with everything that you might need for a seaside holiday.

THE HOUSE

There are two bathrooms, both are newly renovated, one with a freestanding bath and lagoon view and the second with a walk in shower.
LIVING
There are two spacious living areas, one at the rear of the house, opening on to a wind protected courtyard with a braai area and the other at the side, with a hot and cold outdoor shower and direct access to the beach. All living areas have beautiful lagoon views. Adjacent to the front living area is also a breakfast porch amongst the Fynbos garden, providing morning sun to bring in the new day.
The front living area has a TV and DSTV (connected in Peak season only, bring your own card for the rest of the year). Some classic board and card games as well as some toys and beach paraphernalia are supplied.
The open plan kitchen is equipped with a 5 plate gas stove with electric oven, dishwasher, a fridge/freezer and a microwave/convection oven. Housekeeping supplies and equipment are provided. There is no washing machine (who wants to do laundry on holiday?) but there are numerous laundry services in town. Wooden floors in the bedrooms and cement screed throughout the rest of the house mean that beach sand is never a problem.
THE AREA
Langebaan enjoys almost year-round sunshine and boasts azure waters and unsurpassed natural beauty.
The white sand beaches surrounding the clear waters of the Langebaan Lagoon are very popular, and the mild climate and protected waters of the lagoon make it the perfect location for many water sports, including sailing, kayaking, kitesurfing, and fishing. Even if you are a beginner, you can still enjoy Langebaan Lagoon. Most of the water sport shops and centers offer kitesurfing lessons, sailing lessons, water skiing lessons and windsurfing lesson. The wind almost always picks up by mid-afternoon.
Langebaan is an internationally acclaimed Ramsar Site for its importance as a wetland and the tidal mud flats of the lagoon not only host many local bird species but also attract migratory birds every year. Thousands of seabirds roost on sheltered islands, pristine golden beaches stretch endlessly into the early morning mist and brooding salt marshes are home to vast concentrations of migrant waders from the northern hemisphere.
GOOD TO KNOW
If you need a bit more space, Baby Blue Cottage can be booked in together with Indigo Blue Beach House.
Dogs are allowed with prior notice, please not there is no proper fencing around the property. An additional cleaning fee is applicable.
Bath & Beach towels are provided.
Sit on top kayaks and a stand up paddleboard are provided. Additional kayaks can be hired with prior notice. Optional extras include the hire of our semi rigid inflatable, Balega, with skipper.
If you bring your own boat, you may use the ‘Baby Blue’ mooring in front of the house. There is also space on the beach to keep your Hobie.
Denlyn Play Park - is 200m up the road and is ideal for young children to burn off some energy.
