Traditional Boma: Sit around the fire pit and enjoy good company, fine wine and marvel at the starry sky.
Outdoor Lounge Pods: Watch the sun go behind the Stettyn Mountains of enjoy an outdoor reading session.
Living Room: Cozy up next to the indoor fireplace on chilly evenings and enjoy a movie night with the whole family.
Indoor Braai: Enjoy the convenience of an indoor braai with direct access to the main house, perfect for windy days.
Kolkol Hot Tub: Arrive to a pre-heated splash pool overlooking the Stettyn Mountains to be enjoyed in all seasons.
Dining Room: Enjoy farm breakfasts, easy lunches or formal dinners around the 8-seater antique dining room table.
THE AREA
Dating back to 1831, the Lemoenpoort wine farm has been under the ownership of the Viljoen family for over 190 years. The working farm produces wine, grapes, pears, apples, watermelon, and sweet melon and is proudly Fairtrade accredited. Your hosts, Pieter and Christine Viljoen welcome you to experience the heart and soul of the Lemoenpoort farm in the recently restored manor house, De Goede Hoop Farmstead. Here you can explore the farm to your heart's content, enjoy the house and its amenities at leisure and reconnect to your family and loved ones.
De Goede Hoop Farmstead lends itself to a variety of activities both on the farm and the surrounding area. Activities to be enjoyed on the farm include mountain biking (jeep track and single track), farm walks, bird-watching, and fishing excursions to our farm dam. Sunset game drives are also offered on a pre-booked basis should guests be interested to see black wildebeest, gemsbuck, kudu, zebra, and springbuck. Unfortunately, we are not pet-friendly, due to the sensitive wildlife around the house in the vineyards and nearby veld.
GOOD TO KNOW
Provided on arrival are 2 bottles of the farm's BC Wines (red and white; additional wine is available on the basis of an honesty bar), a freshly baked loaf of farm bread, farm produce (a selection of melons, squashes and pumpkins, dependent on what is in season), rusks, tea, butter, jam, milk, instant coffee, sugar, olive oil, salt, pepper and a wheelbarrow of firewood (additional wood can be purchased at R30 per bag on an honesty system).
There is no coffee machine, but a plunger is available - be sure to bring your own ground/ filter coffee.
Provisions can be made for two additional children under the age of 12 years.
Netflix and DSTV streaming is available.
No pets are allowed.

Prior to 30 days before arrival, the full deposit is refundable
