Dassiekrans Cabins

Set within the mouth of Dassiekrans gorge in the Eastern Cape's Kleinrivier Mountains, the four cabins were built by nature lovers, for nature lovers. As they are situated a distance apart from each other, the thick riverine bush ensures privacy. A mere 70km from Port Elizabeth.

THE CABINS

The chalets either have views up the Kleinrivier valley or across to the cliffs on the opposite side (where the dassies bask in the morning sun).

Dassiekrans 1 | Sleeps 3 - A private cabin with mountain views, ideal for couples or small families accommodating up to 3 guests. Equipped with a bathroom, open plan kitchenette, dining area and indoor fireplace. The patio leads off to an outdoor fireplace next to a small stream.

Dassiekrans 2 | Sleeps 2 - A private cabin with mountain view ideal for couples, accommodating up to 2 guests in a king or twin beds. Equipped with a bathroom, open plan kitchenette, indoor fireplace and dining area. The patio leads off to an outside braai area and small stream.

Dassiekrans 3 | Sleeps 2 - A private cabin with mountain view ideal for couples, accommodating up to 2 guests in a king or twin beds. Equipped with own bathroom, open plan kitchenette, indoor fireplace and dining area. The patio leads off to an outside firepit and outside braai area.

Dassiekrans 4 | Sleeps 4 -  A private cabin with mountain view ideal for friends or family, accommodating up to 4 guests in a king bed and two twin beds. Equipped with own bathroom, open plan kitchenette, indoor fireplace and dining area. Patio with braai area and outdoor firepit.
 
All linen and towels are supplied. Most units have two single beds which can be linked to form a King size double.

THE AREA

Situated in the picturesque Eastern Cape and sharing two borders with the Groendal Wilderness Area, Kleinrivier Wilderness offers you the ideal opportunity to escape the pressures of city life in a pristine mountain environment. Spend your days exploring the many trails that lead you through picturesque gorges dotted with ancient cycads. Swim in icy mountain pools or simply relax on the luxurious couch in front of a roaring log fire.

Explore the remote Winterhoek mountains while experiencing the Karoo fauna and flora by simply walking in the opposite direction. The mountains are clad in this unique flora comprising literally thousands of different fynbos species. Five species of antelope occur naturally. Reptiles are king in this dry environment, most common are the 'Bloukop koggelmanders' which scuttle out of your way on the trails. The accommodation is ideal for birders; if you are not into exercise then just wait on your deck and the birds will come to you. 

GOOD TO KNOW 

Children aged between 0 and 2 stay free; children 3 to 12 years pay half price.

The parking area is accessible in a normal vehicle. 

All linen, towels and cooking utensils are supplied, you only need to take food and clothing. Starter set of wood and firelighters provided.

All cabins have lights and a fridge only - no plug points; the kitchenette has a 2 plate gas hob and a small camping fridge.

Deposit Policy

50% deposit required upon booking; balance due a week before arrival.

Cancellation Policy

If cancelling 7 days before arrival, forfeit 100% of the deposit
If cancelling 30 days before arrival, forfeit 25% of the deposit
If cancelling 60 days before arrival, forfeit 50% of the deposit
