The Nest

THE CABIN

This 'tiny house' loft cabin is the latest gorgeous design and budget option at Woodlands; with views out over an indigenous garden setting. The Nest is a 20 sq metre timber frame cabin with a 10 sq metre loft bedroom.

SLEEPING

Queen size bed with fine percale linen in loft upstairs; bathroom downstairs with toilet, basin, gas geyser shower, handmade soap and towels.

LIVING

Fully fitted kitchen with two plate gas hob, fridge, kettle, toaster, microwave, crockery, cutlery, cookware, cleaning products and indoor/outdoor breakfast bar. Lounge area with custom made day bed and coffee table. 

Contemporary handmade rare wood furniture and decor – small, simple but exquisitely comfortable. Deck and private courtyard with BBQ facilities overlooking the garden, small dam and playground.

Private forest walking trail on the property which winds through the indigenous forest and across a suspension bridge over the little stream at the bottom of the valley. Beautiful gardens for exploring and bird watching or just relax and read a book on one of the many garden benches. Children's playground area with playhouse, trampoline, slide, swings, bridges and sandpit. Communal barbeque area and fire pit overlooking the duck pond.

THE AREA

This is a unique haven of forests, lakes, dramatic cliffs and beaches, the gorgeous and entirely family designed, built and fully equipped self-catering suites offer a unique blend of boutique hotel style contemporary design and country life in an idyllic location.

Located on the picturesque Rheenendal Ramble, an area rich in history and with no shortage of activities, restaurants and tea gardens, just 15 minutes outside of Knysna. Perfect location for cycling, hiking, horse riding and trail running. Just 10 minutes to the National Parks and Buffalo Bay beaches. Village shop within 1km for local produce and all your basics from free range eggs and organic honey to local lamb chops. Fantastic restaurants and garden cafes nearby for everything from fresh home-made bread to Sunday buffet lunches.

GOOD TO KNOW 

Complimentary tea, coffee, sugar, rusks and milk provided on arrival.

Pets are allowed by prior request only and conditions may apply.

The stairs are quite narrow and steep and the loft bedroom has a low ceiling on the one side. The bathroom is downstairs.

For your ultimate screen-free relaxation please note that The Nest does not have TV and the wifi can be sporadic and unreliable due to its distance from the main router.

You will be emailed before your arrival with the self check-in instructions.

No smoking is permitted in the suite.

Potential for noise: Please note that there can be traffic noise from occasional trucks and cars passing by on the Rheenendal Road which is 30m from the Nest, children in the playground across from the small dam, frogs, chickens and even monkeys passing by on the telephone lines.

Housekeeping: as a very small guesthouse with self catering accommodation only we rarely get asked for housekeeping so we have just part time staff that work hourly when required. Please try to arrange in advance if you need housekeeping or let one of us know if you need a change of towels, bin or anything else.

A 50% deposit is required to confirm your booking; balance to be paid before arrival.

Please note that Woodlands does not have card facilities on property.

Cancellation Policy

If cancelling 14 days before arrival, forfeit 100% of the deposit.

If cancelling 28 days before arrival, forfeit 50% of the deposit.

If cancelling 999 days before arrival, forfeit 25% of the deposit.
