Boshuis Farm Stay
A luxurious farm stay, known as the Boshuis, comprises a two-bedroom en-suite spacious home that is fully equipped with everything that you’ll need to enjoy your stay. It is nestled in an indigenous forest at the foot of the Outeniqua mountains where rest and relaxation are guaranteed.

THE HOUSE
Boshuis is a mere 15 minutes from George Airport, but you will feel as though you are miles away from civilization as you are surrounded by birdsong, fresh mountain air and the sound of the nearby stream.
This farm stay is an off-grid getaway, it uses solar energy, gas and borehole water. There are a handful of little paths, which you can meander along on the farm. The owners favourite path winds along the Modder River, through the indigenous forest and ends up at a waterfall and a freshwater pool.

LIVING
With WiFi, multiple comfortable sitting areas, which include an indoor braai area, fireplace, outside fire pit and pizza oven, the aim is to make you feel at home and experience the beauty and restorative powers of nature.
Boshuis has a well-equipped kitchen, which includes a four-plate gas hob, microwave, toaster and fridge/freezers.
Enjoy screen-free relaxation, there is no TV and the WiFi can be sporadic at times. Whether you spend your day out, or in, our Boshuis is a space for you to relax and unwind.
THE AREA
The farm offers a few walks along the river and you are welcome to wander about, but please be wary of the buffalo and do not walk near them. They are wild animals and extremely dangerous, no matter how docile they may seem. We will advise you which camps the buffalo are currently in when you arrive, so that you know where it is safe to walk.
Guests can enjoy a lovely hike along the Modder River that leads you to a waterfall and freshwater cool pool which you can take a dip in if you are brave! Those who would like to enjoy longer hiking trails more information to guide you which routes to take can be provided. There are many stunning trails in the area that traverses the Outeniqua mountain range. Mountain bikers can cycle on the nearby farm roads and even tackle the Montague Pass. Routes in the area can be provided on request.
GOOD TO KNOW
Free WiFi
A higher clearance vehicle is recommended when travelling to the Boshuis. There are low-water bridges and farm roads, which are often muddy and always bumpy, to navigate to reach the Boshuis.
Kitchen basics are provided, including oil, salt & pepper, braai salt, tea, ground coffee and sugar.
A bag of firewood and matches are provided.
A complimentary welcome pack is left at the house on arrival, this consists of six eggs from the farm chickens, a bottle of homemade piquante peppers and a jar of farm-baked rusks.
Bathroom amenities are provided.
The George Airport is 15 minutes away from Boshuis.
HOUSE RULES
Please close all windows and doors when not inside the unit as there are many monkeys and baboons in the area that will take advantage of whatever is left out.
Kindly don't feed the wildlife and please do not pick any plants.
No pets are allowed.
Please do not smoke inside the house and avoid loud music.
