THE CAMP

Built above a dry river-bed with stunning views, The Trails Camp features 2 en-suite safari tents on decks, and a beautifully appointed communal entertainment area with complimentary Wi-Fi, kitchen facilities, dining area, lounge, fireplace, pool, sundeck and boma all powered by solar energy.

SLEEPING

Each tent features a king-sized bed (can be converted into two singles on request), tea and coffee facilities, en-suite bathroom with shower, vanity and toilet, toiletries, bath and swimming towels.

Offering a truly exceptional bush experience, and with the rare opportunity to relish a completely private outdoor bathroom, each timber and canvas en-suite unit boasts a mini outdoor deck, providing an idyllic haven for savouring morning coffee or indulging in a quiet moment surrounded by the sounds of the African night before bed.

LIVING

Lounge by the pool or cosy up by the boma, catch up on some work, improve your birding skills or focus on your fitness levels on our walking trails and cycle tracks: The Trails Camp is the ideal spot. Whether you’re celebrating a special birthday, heading to Hoedspruit for a best friend’s safari weekend, or just looking for me time, this is your perfect getaway.

The fully-equipped kitchen features a fridge, freezer, 5 plate gas stove and gas oven.

THE AREA

Located halfway between Hoedspruit and Phalaborwa, the farm lies just 40 minutes from the world famous Kruger Park’s Phalaborwa gate to the north, a bit over an hour’s drive from Orpen Gate to the south; and close to numerous other extraordinary destinations.

While you’re on our farm, however, it’s all about walking, mountain biking, or simply soaking up the incredible views from each site’s decks, surrounded by pristine bush and incredible birdlife — with the odd curious antelope venturing past.

GOOD TO KNOW 

The camp is exclusive use, whether booking one or two (or three) tents.

The farm, Bushveld Bivouac, is approximately 30 kms from Hoedspruit and 45 km from Phalaborwa where there is excellent shopping (as long as it isn’t designer clothing you’re after) and there is a garage across the road with a good range of alcohol and basic groceries.

All linen and swimming towels are included.

The farm is home to plains game, i.e. no big predators. There is however an elusive leopard that frequents the farm, as well as some hyena and wild dog that pass through.

Coffee station with complimentary filter and instant coffee, an assortment of teas, sugar, creamer and rusks.

Small range of precooked meals and baskets are available to order.

Solar power only (please no hairdryers, hair straighteners, shavers or power tools!).

Game drives and guided bush walks can be arranged at an additional cost.
