Eco Karoo Lodge
Eco Karoo Lodge is situated on Knoffelfontein farm, at the foot of majestic mountains to the west and endless great plains to the east. The lodge is self-catering and has 3 separate Eco Suites, each suite can accommodate up to 4 guests, so 12 guests in total which is ideal for a group getaway.

THE SUITES
Mountain, Bush & Karoo Suites are identical, each sleeping up to 4 people. Each suite has it's own private outdoor shower, patio and indoor fire place. There is 1 shared bathroom per suite.

LIVING
The lodge is complete with a shared fully equipped kitchen and a uniquely designed open air kitchenette featuring a braai and boma. There is also a large lounge with a dining room and indoor fireplace that opens up onto a deck with a 6m infinity pool overlooking the Karoo plains.
Eco Karoo is self-catering with a communal kitchen that is fully equipped: fridge, freezer, cutlery, crockery, glasses, pots, pans, grills, tongs etc. There is a microwave oven, 3-plate gas stove, large gas grill and 2 braai areas. Everything is there, you just need to bring your food, groceries and drinks.
THE AREA
The Karoo offers majestic scenery unlike anywhere else on earth - spectacular sunrises, endless horizons, surreal silence and the crisp, distinctive smell of Karoo vegetation. Eco Karoo is situated only 190kms from Bloemfontein, 160 km's from Kimberley,40 km's from SA's second largest dam, Vanderkloof and only a 45 km detour on-route from Gauteng to Cape Town
Your hosts, Bert & Estee, is the third generation Viljoens living on this working farm.
GOOD TO KNOW
100% off the grid, eco farm.
Eco Karoo is in the middle of nowhere and there is (fortunately) no cell phone signal (Vodacom, MTN, CellC etc.). Only the living area at the Lodge has WiFi with internet access.
Eco Karoo is 100% powered by solar power and the solar power system can’t handle electrical appliances. Cell phone chargers and laptops are safe.
The 18km dirt road from Luckhoff is in a reasonable condition after the heavy rains and all vehicles will have access to the lodge (a 4x4 vehicle is not a requirement).
Children younger than 6 years stay for free.
Small Pets allowed by arrangement only.
Wine, filter coffee, ice (R25) and firewood (R70 for 20kg or R40 for 5kg) are for sale at the Lodge. On arrival please order and pay (Cash or Card).
Communal areas are serviced twice daily.
Bring hiking shoes, warm jackets, swimming towels, mountain bikes, binoculars, mosquito repellent and sun hats!
